"Today, if you want to be aware of the most interesting new trends in photography you need to be looking at photobooks or magazines, rarely at exhibitions."

Yannick Bouillis, founder of the art book fair, Offprint Paris

"When people have enough of the self-publishing trend (rough, badly printed, 2-color printing, risograph etc…which I love like hell), they will get back to more established publishing houses with beautifully printed books….if everyone keeps self-publishing stuff, within 2 years, classical publishing houses will be super hot!"

Yannick Bouillis’s predictions for the future of the current self-publishing craze. Nice interview with Bouillis done by Fabio Severo full of lots of satisfyingly controversial opinions. Bouillis is organising Offprint, “a project space for contemporary photography and a book fair for independent publishers” that takes place from November 18-21, 2010, at Espace Kiron, 10 rue de la Vacquerie, 75011 Paris, France.
